Brabus is well-known as a creator of really fast automobiles. Click here to see just some of the crazy machines they’ve created.

The X factor

Having applied its unique touch to a variety of Mercedes-Benz models over the years, Brabus turns its efforts to the newest model from the Three-pointed Star, the X-Class pick-up or bakkie, if you prefer.

A bespoke bodykit had to be created for the new model which includes a new grille treatment as well as bash plate at the front of the vehicle. Two LED bars are sited on the roof above the cab to give you added illumination off the beaten path.

Four tailpipe exits along with tailor-made Monoblock X 20-inch wheels, shod with 285/45 R 20 tyres front and back, finish of the exterior package.

More oomph

Brabus designed an ECU upgrade which increases power output of the 2,3-litre turbodiesel by 15 kW and the torque by a more substantial 60 N.m.

Peak power is rated as 155 kW at 3 500 r/min and 510 N.m of torque is available between 1 500 and 2 500 r/min. Brabus claims a 0-100 km/h time of 11,5 seconds.

Inside

Brabus also gave the interior a bit of an upgrade by adding stainless scuff plates as well as aluminum pedals and footrest. Buyers can choose to have the trim customised from a variety of colours and designs, choosing between leather and Alcantara or a mix of the two.
