All-electric

E-tron is the umbrella term used for all full-electric Audi models. These vehicles use battery power as their sole source of propulsion ie they are not hybrids. Two electric motors power the E-tron 55; one per axle.

Audi is planning a sexy new EV wagon, as previewed in this show car.

265 kW of power is delivered by the two motors, which is raised to 300 kW in ‘boost’ mode. A peak of 664 N.m of torque is on tap from the moment the motors start turning. The Audi E-tron 55 is capable of sprinting from rest to 100 km/h in 5,7 seconds, while top speed is limited to 200 km/h.

The E-tron 55 can be ordered from local Audi dealerships and it costs R2 045 000. Learn more about the ins and outs of the car from our video below.
