The 2019 Indy 500 took place yesterday. It was the 103rd running of this famous event held at the Brickyard in Indianapolis. Simon Pagenaud claimed the win for the first time his career. The Frenchmen started from pole position and is the first pole-sitter in ten years to claim victory at this race.

A dominant performance

In oval track racing matters are pretty unpredictable, but in the 2019 Indy event, Pagenaud led for most of the race. He battled through most of the 200 laps with Alexander Rossi, who would eventually finish second just fractions of a second behind. Former Honda F1 pilot Takuma Sato rounded off the podium.
