Belgium seldom makes the news for motoring-related matters. The populace is generally well-behaved and the most notable motoring action takes place at Spa-Francorchamps. This could explain why this wild Belgian car crash is such big news over there at the moment.

Real-Life Fast and Furious

Moroccan footballer Sofian Kiyine, who plays in the Belgian pro league, seemed to completely mis-judge or just not see a traffic roundabout. Video footage shows that he didn’t even slow as he hit the kerbing. He seemed to be carrying some speed when he made contact. The 25-year-old’s car was launched through the air and into a nearby sports hall.

Close Call

The car punched a hole in the side of a hall where a basketball team was training. Moments earlier the team had been standing metres from where the car landed. You can see the aftermath of the incident in the pics above and where it landed in the video below.

All Okay

All the basketball players were clear of the car as it landed. The only person injured in the incident was Kiyine. He was rushed to hospital although his injuries were not considered life-threatening.
