New Audi Q5 now on sale in SA

The new Audi Q5 has arrived in South Africa, with the third-generation Q5 SUV joined by the second-generation Q5 Sportback and performance-focused SQ5 SUV and SQ5 Sportback. The new Audi Q5 range combines updated styling, a more digital interior and advanced driver assistance technology with petrol, diesel and V6 powertrains.

Built on Audi’s Premium Platform Combustion (PPC), the new Q5 continues the brand’s luxury midsize SUV offering with a choice of S line, S line Black, SQ5 and SQ5 Black specifications.

What does the new Audi Q5 look like?

The third-generation Audi Q5 introduces a more sculpted interpretation of Audi’s SUV design language, with taut lines, balanced proportions and a more pronounced shoulder line. At the front, the elevated Singleframe grille is framed by sculpted headlights and functional air curtains. At the rear, a three-dimensional light strip spans the width of the vehicle.

The Q5 Sportbsck features a coupé-inspired roofline, giving it a more distinctive silhouette while retaining everyday practicality. All Q5 models are offered exclusively in S line specification, with 20-inch alloy wheels as standard. Customers can choose from ten exterior paint finishes, including Sakhir Gold Metallic, Grenadine Red Metallic and Tambora Metallic.

What is the interior of the Audi Q5 like?

The new Q5 features Audi’s Digital Stage, combining an 11,9-inch Audi virtual cockpit plus with a 14,5-inch curved MMI touch display. An optional 10.9-inch MMI passenger display allows the front passenger to access selected navigation and entertainment functions through Active Privacy Mode.

Standard equipment includes electrically adjustable front sport seats, three-zone deluxe automatic climate control, wireless smartphone charging and Audi connect services.

The Q5 2.0 TFSI produces 200 kW and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds. It uses quattro ultra all-wheel drive and a seven-speed S tronic transmission. The range-topping SQ5 3.0 TFSI V6 produces 270 kW and 550 Nm. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds and comes with quattro all-wheel drive and S sport suspension.

Optional adaptive air suspension is available for the Q5, while the SQ5 can be specified with Adaptive S air suspension.

What technology does the new Audi Q5 have?

The Audi Q5 comes standard with a range of driver assistance systems, including Adaptive Cruise Control, Front Emergency Brake Assist, Front Cross Traffic Assist, Park Assist Plus, Surround View Cameras, Side Assist, Exit Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Assist and Audi Pre Sense.

Two optional technology packages are available.

Tech Plus adds Matrix LED headlights, Adaptive Cruise Assist Plus with assisted lane change and additional driver assistance and convenience technology.
