McLaren Project Endurance was shown for the first time ever at the 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans. This is a precursor the racer that will compete in the French endurance race’s Le Mans Hypercar (LMH) class from 2027. The company has already announced that it will be producing examples for private ownership.

Another Racetrack Refugee

The McLaren Project Endurance takes its lead from Ferrari, that has built versions of the Le Mans-winning 499P for ownership by private individuals. Read more about the Ferrari 499P Modificata at this link. Aston Martin has done the same with its Valkyrie LM.

The first full-scale model of McLaren Project Endurance was shown just hours before the endurance race started. Of course, McLaren has tasted success at La Sarthe. 30 years ago the British team won with its road-car turned racer, the famous F1.

Project Endurance will be powered by a race-built V6 twin turbo hybrid powertrain driving the rear wheels. It will be built in partnership with renowned race car constructor, Dallara. Inclusive to the McLaren Project Endurance ownership experience, customers will enjoy a two-year McLaren customer track program that encompasses some of the world’s best race circuits. They will benefit from support at track events each season, participating on an arrive-and-drive basis. Each owner will receive driver coaching from a race professional, with individual pit crew and race engineers supporting throughout. That sounds pretty darn cool.
