Aston Martin introduced it’s first ever, series production mid-engined supercar, the Valhalla to the world at the every end of 2024. That car has been met with acclaim by those who have driven it. Now the company introduces the Aston Martin Valhalla Spider, the fastest open-cockpit Aston Martin ever made.

Valhalla Coupe broke so much new ground. Our first production mid-engined supercar. Our first plug-in hybrid. The first to feature our bespoke flat-plane crank V8 engine, and the first to use our all-new 8-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT). It also pioneered a fresh design language and achieved a unique blend of exemplary on-road feel and engagement matched by extraordinary on-track capability. Valhalla Spider builds on those impressive ‘firsts’, preserving the aesthetic beauty and dynamic bandwidth of Valhalla Coupe while introducing the expanded opportunities for enjoyment and engagement that can only be found in an open-cockpit supercar. High speed or low speed. Rain or shine. Roof on or roof off. Road or track. Valhalla Spider ticks every box
– Adrian Hallmark, Aston Martin, CEO
Full speed drop-top.
The most obvious difference compared to its coupe sibling is the fact that the Valhalla Spider has no roof. Well, it has a fabric roof or a carbon-fibre panel, should you choose. The soft-top allows for a top speed of 200 km/h. Interestingly, with no roof on top speed is the same as its fixed roof brother, at 350 km/h. The same holds true of the carbon-fibre roof.
A new wind deflector ensures that air is sent over the cabin and directed into the engine thanks to a slightly revised air inlet. The snorkel bespoke to Valhalla Spider as it has been reprofiled and sits 35 mm taller for the new airflow path. Revised active aerodynamics and Electronic Stability Program (ESP) calibrations identify and adapt to the air flow in both roof-on and roof-off conditions. Maximum downforce in excess of 600 kg (with roof fitted) is still on the cards.

V8 power
The Valhalla Spider uses the same V8 hybrid configuration as the coupe. A twin-turbocharged flat-plane V8 sits behind the cabin. The ICE component of the powertrain produces 609 kW/857 N.m. Additionally, the ICE has three electric motors to ramp up power even further. A single electric motor in mounted within eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. Two motors, one per front wheel, make the the Valhalla an AWD car. Total system power is 793 kW along with a peak of 1 100 N.m of torque. As a result Aston Martin claims that its newest release can blast from rest to 100 km/h in just 2,5 seconds, no different from the coupe.
Race-derived
The based of the Spider is the same as the coupe. It is based around an F1-style carbon fibre monocoque, which results in a mass of 1 680 kg – about 25 kg more than quoted for the coupe. In addition it has double wishbone pushrod suspension with inboard springs and dampers up front, which is not dissimilar to what many racecars use. The rear arrangement is multilinks. The entire system is mated with DTX adaptive dampers.
The Valhalla has four driving modes: sport (its default), pure EV, Sport+ and race. The Valhalla can be driven up to 14 km in pure EV mode. Each mode has its own combination of settings for powertrain (including torque vectoring and hybrid system integration), plus suspension stiffness, active aero, and steering calibration. A rotary dial on the centre console allows the driver to choose between the various modes.
