Recently, a lot of news about the new Mercedes-AMG GT has been surfacing online, and we’ve managed to find a few pictures and a video.The body is still a wider frame, but it also more simpler and in line with the manufacturer’s latest models. It features a lightweight aluminium space frame weighing in at just 509 pounds, the aerodynamics have been improved and a new turbocharged engine has been added to improve overall performance. The engine is 4.0 litre V-8, and has been modified to optimise turbocharger responsiveness, reduce carbon emissions and allows for a more compact engine. With an output of 456hp, the Mercedes AMG-GT is able to reach 0-60 in just 3.9 seconds, with a top speed of 189mph. A step-up model is also available with 503 hp, reaching 0-60 in 3.7 seconds with a top speed of 193mph.

 

 

Moving inside the vehicle, the centre console is massive, filling most of the space between driver and passenger seats. Eight buttons and knobs are used to control everything from the drive modes to the active exhaust, and also being used to access the vehicles infotainment system. The safety-tech in the AMG-GT is top-of-the-line and comes standard with adaptive braking, Attention Assist, parking sensors and a rear-view camera. The Mercedes AMG-GT is expected to launch in the U.S in the spring of 2015, with worldwide release dates to follow.
