While Uber is revolutionising the way in which the taxi service operates, the company has not been without their fair share of criticism. Facing regulatory opposition from Australia, Canada, the United States and various European countries, and a number of lawsuits from corporations and private individuals, the company is no stranger to controversy.
But now Uber is running a campaign looking to curb one of the greatest dangers faced by drivers all over the world, drunken driving. The groundbreaking initiative was started by creative agency Rethink, and hopes to install breathalyzers  on city sidewalks where drivers can test themselves to see if they are over the legal limit. If they are, Uber will dispatch a taxi offering the driver a free ride home.
This is not the first time that Uber has acted against drunken driving, a past campaign saw them donating a dollar to the organisation Mothers Against Drunken Driving for every time a ride was booked. We think this is a great initiative and wish Uber all the best against drunken driving.
