Durban-born Raoul Hyman has just signed with Hitech GP to compete in the inaugural FIA Asian F3 Championship.

Seasoned campaigner

Hyman has been plying his trade in single-seaters for over a decade. His career started in karting on local soil. Soon the Hyman family relocated to Europe to allow Raoul to chase his dream of becoming an F1 star.

He has raced successfully in a number of series in Europe and the UK. His most recent success was a victory in the 2017 FIA GP3 series. In 2014 he was named as a ‘Rising Star’ by the BRDC for achieving the most podiums in that championship.

A fresh start

Hitech will contest the full FIA Asian F3 Championship, which kicks off at Sepang in Malaysia on July 13, 2018.

The Asian F3 Series will feature a mix of professional and amateur drivers, competing in Formula 3 cars that conform to the FIA F3 regulations, adopting the development of the new single chassis, single engine concept.

In his own words

“I am thrilled to be competing in the inaugural Asian F3 Championship and especially excited to join Hitech Dragon GP,” commented Hyman.

“The team is extremely professional in their approach and are motivated to win, so I’m happy to be joining their ranks. Our aim is to hit the ground running and mount a successful championship assault from the very first round in Sepang. I’m really looking forward to getting the season started.”
