Polestar was once known as the performance arm of Volvo Cars. However, when Geely took over ownership of Volvo, Polestar was turned into an exclusive EV brand. Early this year the company showed us the Polestar O2 concept car. This model has now been given the green light for production. It will be known as the Polestar 6 when it goes on sale to the public.

“With the overwhelming consumer and press response, we took the decision to put this stunning roadster into production and I am so excited to make it a reality,” says Thomas Ingenlath, Polestar CEO. “Polestar 6 is a perfect combination of powerful electric performance and the thrill of fresh air with the top down.”

Pure EV

The Polestar 6 will take the shape of a hard-top convertible. It will have seating for just two people. Under the skin it will feature high-performance, 800-Volt electric architecture. Polestar has already confirmed that this drivetrain will have outputs of up to 650 kW and 900 N.m of torque from dual motors. This power output will allow the Polestar 6 to sprint from rest to 100 km/h in 3,2 seconds. It will have a top speed of 250 km/h.
