Digital Roots

The Nissan Max-Out was one of four concepts that the Japanese automaker showed in the digital space in 2021. The others were called Chill-Out, Surf-Out, and Hang-Out. The response to the open-top, two-seater must have been quite favourable as it was turned into a reality.

Nissan has not been forthcoming with info on its ‘new’ creation, other than to say Max-Out was designed to provide a liberating sense of openness while offering an enhanced, dynamic driving experience.” 

Keeping it Simple

The stylish, curvy convertible relies heavily on its appearance to do the talking. It has a fully enclosed grille which appears to double as a digital display. Its appearance is mimicked at the rear. The wheel covers, which look like wormholes, also seem to be displays.

A minimalist aesthetic is applied to the cabin with two floating seats and geometric carpeting that looks like an optical illusion. An expansive screen that combines a digital instrument cluster with an infotainment system. There is also another wormhole displayed on the far edge of the screen. Perhaps Nissan is trying to tell us something…
