Ian Callum working his magic to create a truly memorable shape. A subsidiary of the famous Formula team, Williams Advanced Engineering, handled the technical side of things. The ingredients meant that the 250 units intended for production would be a hit. Unfortunately, a global financial scuppered all production plans for the Jaguar C-X75. That is, until now…

Second Chance

The Jaguar C-X75 was supposed to spearhead a resurgence for the British brand. However, fate intervened and the gorgeous sportscar was destined to be a “what-if”. “C-X75 was ‘the one that got away’ – a car brimming with unfulfilled potential,” says Ian Callum, who led the team that created the car in 2010 and is now design director and co-founder of Callum. “We’ve combined the customer’s wishes with carefully engineered solutions to bring C-X75 to the thoroughly satisfying conclusion it always deserved.”

Lucky Pair

Callum’s automotive consultancy has created its second thoroughly reengineered Jaguar C-X75 for a lucky client. The shape has been gently massaged for road use. As a result it also features active downforce and an airbrake for high-speed antics. The car also has hydraulic front lift suspension for enhanced practicality. The interior has undergone a complete rework. The minimalist cockpit has three rotary dials are angled towards the driver, while touchscreens take care of cabin controls. There is also a digital rear-view mirror.

V8 Power

The original C-X75 was supposed to be powered by a Williams’ developed PHEV system. That original powerplant would feature a 1,6-litre twin force-fed engine and four electric motors, one per wheel. The Callum-built customer car has a supercharged V8, which we can safely assume is taken from the Jaguar parts bin. The petrol engine is mated with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission that drives the rear wheels. There was no info available about power outputs or any performance data.
