Electronic Wizardry

The standard E53 uses a turbocharged 3,0-litre inline six that produces 330 kW. An ECU of Brabus’ own design lifts power from the ICE component to 395 kW. Additionally, peak torque rises from 560 to 660 N.m. Keep in mind that the E53 also has an electric motor with an output of 120 kW and 480 N.m of torque. As a result total system output is now rated as 515 kW and 850 N.m. These figures allow the all-wheel-drive sedan to accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in just 3,6 seconds . The top speed is electronically limited to 280 km/h. Brabus offers the upgrades for sedan and estate versions of the E53.

The Brabus Mercedes-AMG E53 also boasts a meaner appearance thanks to aerodynamically tuned bodywork components for the sedan and wagon, which are produced from exposed-structure carbon and offer a choice of matte or high-gloss finish. These include a three-piece front spoiler, tailor-made carbon surrounds for the side air intakes and the radiator grille. The rear also has a diffuser with four 90 mm titanium/carbon tailpipe exits. The sedan can be upgraded with rear spoiler that generates additional downforce at high speeds. The sharper appearance is finished off with Brabus 21-inch alloys alloys and a lowering kit that have a variable ride-height between 15 and 30 millimetres.
