An all-new Aston Martin Vantage was shown to the world about a year ago. That front-engined sportscar has now been joined by a Vantage Roadster. The new model goes on sale from the second quarter of 2025. This means it arrives just in time for the European/northern hemisphere summer. The Vantage Roadster is the latest new model from the brand and follows on from the mid-engined Valhalla that was shown late last year.

Marek Reichman, Aston Martin chief creative officer, said: “This new Vantage Roadster is a sculptural masterpiece. Its form exudes beauty, its athletic stance conveys predatory intent, and its sound delivers a visceral, sensory experience. Created as both art and performance, the engine’s sound amplifies this balance, turning the auditory experience into an essential part of the journey. With the roof down, the soundscape becomes as dynamic as the design, blending simplicity, power, and a visceral connection that transcends driving into an unmatched sensory experience.”

Twins

The latest Vantage Roadster was designed at the very same time as its fixed-roof sibling. As a result, Aston engineers could account for any additional mass and engineering work from the get go. This means that the drop-top version weighs only 60 kg more than the coupe. The Z-folding roof is a fabric item that can be operated at speeds of up to 50 km/h. The whole process takes just 6,8 seconds. Additionally, owners can open and close the roof using the remote fob, provided you are within 2two metres of the car – neat.

AMG V8 Power

The Vantage Roadster is powered by the same AMG-sourced twin-turbo V8 as the coupe. This means it also has 489 kW with a peak torque figure of 800 N.m. An eight speed automatic transmission is mounted between the rear wheels and feeds power through a limited slip differential. Aston Martin says the Roadster can sprint from rest to 100 km/h in 3,6 seconds, which is just 1/10th slower than the coupe. Its top speed is an identical 325 km/h.
