With it’s 6.2 litre V8 engine producing 455hp worth of power, the Corvette Stingray seems as though it should have no problem beating the 1.5 litre 3-cylinder BMW i8 on a straight-line drag race. But given the fact that the race took place at an altitude of about a mile above sea level, both car’s internal combustion engines would lose about 15% power, while the BMW’s electric hybrid engine did not.
